Course overview

This refrigerant recovery course explains bottle preparation, use, and function along with recovery machine hose setups that differ based on the type of machine and hoses used. Procedures are shown in a step by step manner for a recovery machine without a reliable pressure display and another with a digital display. All practices are based on EPA 608 guidelines.

Initial air purging and also vacuuming the recovery hose setup prior to use are shown. Recovery from two ports of a system and also from a single port system are shown. Recovery from single stage air conditioning systems, and a mini split heat pump are shown.

Understanding the refrigerant recovery process based on EPA 608 practices is crucial to providing for the reclaimed HFC refrigerants we will need in the future.
