TXV vs EEV Metering Devices

Understand how a TXV differs from an EEV metering device in an air conditioner and heat pump!

A thermostatic expansion valve operates on pressures while an EEV is controlled by electrical pulses provided by the circuit board. The circuit board makes decisions on operation based on temperature and/or pressure inputs from the system from thermistors and/or pressure transducers.
